Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a biomedical imaging technique that uses light to capture micrometer-resolution, three-dimensional images from within optical scattering media (e.g., biological tissue). OCT is based on low-coherence interferometry, typically employing near-infrared light. Since the optical signal is associated with the obtained information, the light source has a significant influence on OCT performance as signal carrier.  Therefore, broad spectrum light source is recommended to get optimal resolution.
